Making Beautiful Music with USANA

Charles I. “Chuck” Berlin joined USANA in January of 2003 after retiring from a career as a hearing scientist, audiologist and lab director at LSU Medical School in New Orleans. He was introduced to USANA by Oz Crosby, and promptly ignored both the company and the opportunity, predictably viewing himself as “not a salesman”, “too busy”, “not interested in badgering his friends”, etc. In other words he threw out the arguments many people raise when they are simply afraid to investigate something new.

He started to look more closely, however, when he personally experienced the effects of maintaining a healthy body. Debbi Crosby had prompted her husband Oz to give Chuck a pair of Health Packs as a retirement present, and by June of 2003 Chuck and his wife Harriet had joined USANA and became Silver Directors, a level they have reached one more time since.

USANA plays an important part in Chuck’s current life; it was a continual source of income for him and his wife when their home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, and he mentions USANA at the beginning of every professional lecture he gives. As he continues his career as a scientist by lecturing to hearing scientists, physicians and patients he announces that, in addition to his careers as a scientist, he is a Network Marketer. His group in fact is called Professional International Networkers or PIN and populated by physicians, scientists, audiologists, speech pathologists and musicians.

Why musicians? Chuck is also a jazz pianist who pursued his science in New Orleans so he could have two careers, and views USANA as an ideal support system to help maintain musicians’ health in toxic atmospheres, and to encourage their long-term solvency.

Chuck’s helped his Medical School start a Musician’s Health Clinic, viewing New Orleans musicians as a “natural resource” deserving of stewardship and nurture. Now he finds that when musicians consult him for their hearing problems, usually tinnitus (ringing in the ears) or noise induced hearing loss, he can cite important literature on the use of anti-oxidants in this area.. His careers as a scientist, musician and USANA Associate have all converged beautifully to support one another. He has also learned that the clinical skills he honed listening closely to patients and their issues helps make him a better USANA-listener when approaching people who might benefit from what we have to offer.

Working with Ani, Oz, Debbi, and Rosie has opened a new and exciting chapter for the Berlins and they, along with Chuck’s sister Carole who was the top-earning Believer in all of USANA in October of 2005, invite you to join the fun and the share the wealth.

$91,800 US is the average yearly income for an established, full-time USANA Associate (Gold Director and above). $23,225 US is the annual average of those who earned as little as one commission check each month. Surveys show that 83% of all Associates self-report they joined USANA to "improve their health." Of those remaining, 21% earned a check at least once a month even though 56% reported they were not joining to "replace their full-time income." Of those that were, 41% have been Associates for at least one year and 56% are considered full time with the title of Gold Director or above. These figures shown should not be considered as guarantees or projections of your actual earnings or profits. Success with USANA results only from successful sales efforts, which require hard work, diligence, and leadership. If you include all 126,146 with the title of Associate, which includes Associates not actively building a business (acting as wholesale buyers), Associates who just joined (as little as one day), and those who are just beginning to build their customer base, the average yearly income is still $734.27 US, with more than one in three earning a check.
